Anna Gunn began acting as an elementary school student in Sante Fe New Mexico. After that, her family relocated to Ohio in the United States, where she nurtured her interest in performing on theatre. She studied theatre at Northwestern University, and spent an entire semester at the British American Drama Academy. Anna started her acting career working in the Chicago area theatres for a short time. After that, she switched to television and film. Anna's debut role was Arden as she appeared in Down the Shore. She played in 29 episodes. She also guest-starred on the show. appeared in Seinfeld and NYPD Blue. It wasn't until the late 1990s when she was cast in the role of The Practice. Martha Bullock, a character she played for two years on Deadwood's season two. She also starred in Breaking Bad as Skyler, in the year 2008. Sully was another of her roles. Gunn was also in the David Schwimmer directed production Sex With Strangers. The actress, in 2022, also was a part of a four-part audio-play podcast titled"Numbered Days.
