Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American artist and a sitarist is best known for her musical talents. She was the first woman of her generation to be a member of an award from the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka is a emerging star of Indian sitar. She is both the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. She was a child who bounded between London to New Delhi. The first time she performed was in New Delhi when she was only 13 years old. Later the same year, in Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in 1999. Anouskha is an aspiring young lady, but she has a very impressive career in singing and recording. Since a while, she regularly performs with her father. The first album she released as a solo artist, Anourag, was released in 1998. A year later, she dropped the Grammy nomination-winning Live at Carnegie Hall. Alongside performing at all of the largest venues and venues, she also has a long stage career. Anoushka Shankar's professional life isn't restricted to just the music industry. She published Bapi the love of my life in the year 2002. It is a biographical work that is a tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she starred on Dance Like a Man as the Bharat Natyam dancer. Her career continues to grow and she will continue to accomplish many amazing things in the coming years. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent a lot of her childhood in London and Delhi later relocating to California where she went to the high school. When she was 9 she began her studies in the piano with her father. Her debut performance on the Sitar was during her birthday celebrations for her 75th birthday in Delhi just four years later. Anoushka has gained lots of experience touring across the globe with her father. She played at Carnegie Hall in her teenage time, and also recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. She was the first woman to receive the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament to recognize her musical talent and artistic ability in the Asian Arts.
